The Good Life Festival 25-26 March 2016 June 26, 2015 02:50

What a great weekend we had at The Good Life Festival at Oxford Island on the shores of Lough Neagh. This event was organised by the Armagh and Craigavon Council. It was a fun filled two days, with entertainment for all the family. There was the best in local music, food, creativity and ideas for getting the best out of life.

We where situated in the Danann Craft Village tent with lots of other crafters selling locally made hand crafted produce. The Jouneyman Saddlers were selling fabulous hand crafter leather goods. Patricia Millar Ceramics with her pieces which are inspired by the shores of Strangford Lough. Aileen's Glass, which is all created from reclaimed glass that she makes into pieces of art. And the beautiful three dimensional felt sculptures by textile artist Liz Nicholls who gets her inspiration from the environment around her. This just names a few. There was also crafters selling handmade jewellery, soaps and home made natural remedies, the cutest little fairy doors and fairy dust !!! and handmade scented candles and melts.

In the other tents there was everything from local bands, poets, stand up comedians and even a kids theatre. Jenny Bristow was giving cooking demos and lots of local food producers selling their delicious products, with lots of samples to try. There was also a look back in time with the Ardglass Viking Village showing their traditional way of life, with a demonstration on constructing a long boat.

There was also a lot of out door activities with wall climbing and off grid living with lessons in bush craft and nature conservation.

I had a totally fantastic time !! .. I will certainly be back next year !
